This school year, with the initiative of the Panhellenic Pedagogical Society for Secondary Education and Ionios High School, was organized the 1st Student Competition on the topic “Research Skills in Physics and Chemistry”. This competition, which ran under the aegis of the Directorate of Secondary Education of B’ Athens, had as its main aim the enforcement of students’ knowledge on basic concepts in Physics and Chemistry, as well as the development of their skills of critical thinking, information analysis, data evaluation, conclusion deduction based on data and problem-solving, in connection with the real world.
The competition was held on Saturday 20/4 in the premises of Ionios School in Filothei. On Tuesday 4/6 in the reception hall of Ionios School was held the award ceremony of the participating students. The 1st and 2nd prizes were awarded to our school students and more precisely to Georgios Pnevmatikatos and Konstantinos Boulamatsis respectively. Within the 15 students that were awarded a prize was also our student Eirini Vasileiou. Moreover, our students Iason Fotakis and Panagiota Tsavala were awarded praises of participation.
