On 23, 24 and 25 October 2023, was realized a three-hour seminar on cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (A.E.D.) use for the C’ Class students by the excellent trainers’ group of Onasseio Cardiosurgery Centre under the supervision of the Education Director Mrs. Maria Meidani. In the seminar, the school teachers, who participated in the seminar of B.L.S. and the use of A.E.D., certified by the E.R.C., held on Thursday 6 October 2022, had the opportunity to repeat their training.
We deeply thank the General Director of the Centre Mr. Panos Minogiannis for the offer, the Education Director Mrs. Maria Meidani and the trainers’ team, Ms. Dinitra Doumpou, Ms. Olga Kadda, Mr. Tasos Karagiannis, Mr. Giannis Trikoilis and Mr. Panagiotis Kossyvas, who transferred their knowledge and experience to our students both on a theoretical and on a practical level.
In the framework of our school community’s (teachers’ and students’) empowerment and awareness of First Aid and given the placement of an A.E.D. in our school (https://kidssavelives.gr/aed/protypo-geniko-lykeio-gymnasio-evangelikis-scholis-smyrnis/), the realization of such a seminar is important for our school community and also for the wider local society.
We hope that our collaboration will continue in the following school year, too, since our aim is the realization of such a seminar for the future C’ Class students, as we wish them to become aware future citizens.
