In the framework of the Evangeliki Model High School of Smyrna?s action ?Let?s go to the theatre!?, on Saturday 8 April 2023, we attended in the Modern Theatre the exceptional play ?Marie Sklodowska Curie?. The play, using multimedia as well as the actors? exceptional performance, presented in an hour and a half the life and the work of Marie Curie, a scientist whose ethos and work changed the way we live today. In collaboration with her husband, Pier Curie, she discovered radium and studied the phenomena of radioactivity. She also discovered polonium and was the first woman who became a university professor in Sorbonne, while she was awarded twice the Nobel Prize in Physics (1903) and in Chemistry (1911). She was the most famous female scientist of her times.
The action has finished for this school year in the best possible way. The students? participation was higher than any other time.
We hope that we will have the chance to attend more plays in the following school year!!!
