Speech by the Greek Member of the European Parliament Mrs. Eliza Vozemberg in the framework of the action ?European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS)?

On Monday 9 May is completed the action ?European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS)? with the visit of the Greek Member of the European Parliament Mrs. Eliza Vozemberg in our school. Mrs. Vozemberg will discuss with our students and will talk about the new challenges of the European Union and the position of the youth in it.

During the event the students will present the works they have prepared on the topic of the European Union during this school year. The action ?European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS)? had as an objective to inform students about the European parliamentary system, the values of democracy in Europe and the role and function of the European Parliament.

The choice of this specific date for the event was made because the 9th May has been institutionalized as the Day of Europe and it is the anniversary of the historic ?Schuman Declaration?. The French politician Robert Schuman is considered to be the inspirer of the European unification as on the 9th May 1950 he formulated his suggestion about a new form of political collaboration aiming at the avoidance of war conflicts in Europe and the peaceful living of the European nations.

The event will be held during the last two teaching sessions and will participate the A? Class of our school.

Teachers in charge of the action: Matthaios Giannaras ? Dimitrios Kominos
