The School Administration and the Teachers’ Association of the Model General Lyceum of the Evangelical School of Smyrni extend their warmest congratulations to our school students Konstantinos Giannoulas and Georgios Pnevmatikos, who won a bronze medal at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2026), proudly representing Greece at one of the most important international scientific competitions for students.
This outstanding achievement is the culmination of the two students’ many years of effort, dedication, and passion for Chemistry, and is also a particular honor for our school. Their success confirms that systematic work, scientific development, and commitment to one’s goals can lead to achievements of international distinction, while also highlighting the value of education as a force for creativity and progress.
We extend our special thanks to our school Chemistry teachers, Chrysi Angelidou and Christodoulos Makedonas, whose scientific expertise, dedication to their educational work, and continuous support made a substantial contribution to the students’ preparation. This success is the fruit of a collective effort, in which the students’ thirst for knowledge meets the inspiration, responsibility, and discreet guidance of their teachers.
Warm congratulations are also due to the students’ families, who supported them with trust and consistency throughout this demanding journey.
We wish Konstantinos and Georgios every success as they continue their journey with the same integrity, love of learning, and creative spirit that led them to this outstanding achievement, serving as a source of inspiration for the next generations of students at our school.
