Our school participated in the event organized by the newspaper To Vima, in collaboration with the Office of the European Parliament in Greece, on the occasion of Europe Day and the special student edition “Europe’s Tribune” (“To Vima tis Evropis”).
The event took place at the facilities of Alter Ego Media and brought together students from different regions of Greece, as well as from other European countries, through both in-person and online participation. The discussion focused on the concerns, expectations, and reflections of young people regarding the future of Europe, during a period of intense international developments.
A ten-member group of students from our school participated in the discussions and activities of the event, together with journalists and representatives of the European Parliament. The discussion highlighted issues such as democracy, peace, critical thinking toward information, the role of social media, and the importance of journalism in the modern era.
Of particular importance was the participation of students from our school’s journalism club (“Evangelioforos”) in the special student edition “Europe’s Tribune,” which was published on Sunday, May 10, together with the newspaper “To Vima,” and featured their articles.
Specifically, students from our school wrote articles about Europe’s course during a period of geopolitical instability, crisis of trust, social inequalities, and rapid technological change. In their texts, they examined issues such as European solidarity, the need for a new political vision, the role of information and media, democratic citizen participation, and the place of the younger generation in Europe’s future.
The participation of our students in this publication highlights the importance of student journalism as a field for reflection, critical thinking, and active participation in public dialogue.
