On Friday, May 8, an informative talk on reproduction, contraception, and adolescent health was held at our school by Dr. Panagiotis Benardis. Dr. Benardis is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist specializing in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Gynecological Ultrasound, and he also holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. The presentation took place as part of the Biology course.
Dr. Benardis met separately with each first-year high school class, giving students the opportunity to participate more actively, express their questions, and engage in discussion in an atmosphere of trust and respect. Both female and male students participated with great interest, asking questions and contributing meaningfully to the discussion.
During the presentation, topics related to the anatomy and physiology of the reproductive system, pregnancy, methods of contraception, the importance of prevention and personal care, sexually transmitted diseases, and HPV vaccination were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on the value of proper information, responsibility, and health protection.
The activity was coordinated by Dr. Katerina Ntakou, Biology teacher.
