On Thursday, April 2, 2026, students from the school’s theater group participated in the festival organized by the Department of Theatre Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as part of the research project titled “AGDrama4Youth – Ancient Drama for Children and Young People and Human Rights.” The students engaged with the work of Aeschylus and the timeless values of ancient drama (justice, abuse of power, humanism, philanthropy, and altruism). They reflected on the contemporary implications of the work, created a digital narrative, and moved the audience with their performance at the Aula of the Faculty of Philosophy, presenting their own piece entitled “Free Prometheus.” “Because theatre is not a luxury; it is a necessity. It is a way of learning differently: to feel, to understand, to collaborate. To put ourselves in someone else’s place, to give voice to what is not easily expressed.”
Warm congratulations to the Department of Theatre Studies and the Master’s Program “Greek and World Theatre: Dramaturgy, Performance, Education” for their excellent organization and their ongoing contribution to promoting theatrical education and culture. Through initiatives like this, the university reaffirms its essential role as a promoter of culture, education, and social awareness.
