The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club of our school won 1st place in the Innovation Camp – Christmas Edition competition, organized by Junior Achievement Greece as part of initiatives promoting sustainable development and the reduction of food waste.
The competition aimed to create innovative business ideas contributing to a fairer, healthier, and more environmentally friendly food system, in line with the European Union’s Farm to Fork strategy. Student teams were invited to propose solutions to reduce the environmental footprint of the Christmas table, focusing on food production, consumption, and management.
Our school team stood out with the innovative business idea EcoPortion, a comprehensive digital solution addressing food waste across the entire food chain—from farm to plate.
The proposal combined:
- support for local producers through the distribution of “ugly” but high-quality products,
- smart consumption management with accurate portion calculation,
- utilization of leftovers, and
- measurable environmental and social impact.
The solution was evaluated based on innovation and creativity, relevance to the theme and impact, feasibility and business logic, as well as presentation quality. It achieved the highest overall score, securing first place.
Warm congratulations to the students of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club for this outstanding distinction.
This success demonstrates that innovation, collaboration, and environmental awareness can lead to solutions with real impact for the future.
