On Friday, November 7, 2025, students of the Model General Lyceum of the Evangeliki School of Smyrna took part in the 76th Mathematical Competition “Thales,” organized by the Hellenic Mathematical Society (H.M.S.). The competition was held simultaneously in school units across the country, aiming to cultivate mathematical thinking, creative problem-solving, and a love of Mathematics.
Our students, with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility, participated in the process, demonstrating that effort, perseverance, and intellectual exercise are fundamental elements of their educational journey. Their participation in an institution with long-standing tradition and prestige, such as the “Thales” competition, is an honor for the school and a source of inspiration for the entire student community.
The Administration and the Teaching Staff warmly congratulate all participating students for their effort, character, and dedication.
Thanks are also extended to our school’s mathematics teachers—Mr. Stylianos Ventouris, Mr. Panagiotis Brinos, Mr. Konstantinos Selevistas, and Mr. Alkiviadis Tzelepis—for their preparation, guidance, and encouragement of our students.
