On Tuesday 14 November 2023 at 14:30-16:00, the Clubs of Film Education Ι and ΙΙ hosted online our school graduate Ms. Eirini Kariori, who now lives in London and works in the international film industry.
Ms. Kariori talked to the Clubs’ participants how her interest in the artistic professions of the performing arts was born thanks to the experience she gained from her participation in the film activities and the Theatre Club of our school. She talked about her studies in 3D objects and costumes in London, her course in plays and film productions till her participation in the recent big production of Warner Bros “Barbie” and her current participation in the production of “Gladiator 2”.
She presented to the participants samples of her previous works and explained to them the hierarchy in the Drapes Department – the creation of tapestries and the cover of settings with drapes –, where she works. She also referred to the time required for their creation, the demands of her job, her working schedule, the challenges she faces, but also the satisfaction she receives.
Afterwards, she answered to the participants’ questions and greeted us encouraging those interested in a career in the film industry to follow their dream.
This meeting was interesting and constructive for the participants as they came in touch with a professional of the field, who practices a specialized artistic job and broadened their horizons as far as the range of the film industry professionals is concerned.
We thank Ms. Kariori very much for her time and for sharing her experiences with us, and we wish her good luck in all the projects she undertakes!
