Distinction of our school teams in the 10th Panhellenic Competition of Natural Sciences? Constructions and Experiments

Congratulations to the two teams of our school that participated and were distinguished in the 10th Panhellenic Competition of Natural Sciences? Constructions and Experiments on the topic ?Skills for the Future?.

The Competition was held in the framework of the Science on Stage Europe (Science On Stage Greece) European project in the seat of EKFE of Aigaleo. Science On Stage project includes activities aiming at informing teachers and media people about the new teaching methods of natural sciences and about new, innovative ways of transmission of the relevant information. Objective of this project is the direct connection of natural sciences with everyday life.

Our school chemist Dr. Christodoulos Makedonas? team, consisting of the students Christina-Sofia Ioannidou, Konstantina Mavroukaki-Karagkouni, Myrto-Eleni Bouza, Alexandra Nastou, Chrysoula Panigyraki, Isabella Papadopoulou, Myrto Papadopoulou and Eirini Sergentani, as well as of our school graduates Marianna-Fanouria Mitsioni and Charilaos Pipis, presented three experiments entitled:

?Construction of a simple spectrophotometer of nuclear emission in the school laboratory?.

?Construction of a spectrophotometer of visible, low cost and applications in the school laboratory?,

?Construction of solar cells sensitized by plant pigments?,

took the 6th place in the Competition and will represent our country in the European Competition in Cascais, Portugal.

The team of the ex-school chemist Dr. Chrysi Aggelidou and of the school English teacher Dr. Eirini Arnaouti, consisting of the students Dimitrakopoulou Barbara-Lydia, Gkoutzani Kleio, Exarchou Lydia, Galanos Stamatios, Avgerinou Aikaterini, Gourgouletis Nikolaos, Zaravinou Niki, Androni Myrto, Giappas Charalampos, Paizis-Radoicovic Dimitrios, Nikiforakis Georgios, Tsironis Christos, Christopoulou Christina, Lafatzi Eirini, Mavroukaki-Karagkouni Konstantina and Sousani Athanasia, presented their work entitled

?Making Board Games on Biochemistry in the English Language?.

The team took the 9th place in the Competition, which is the 2nd substitute for the representation of our country in the European Competition in Cascais, Portugal.
