Visit of the Club of Cinematic Education and of the Journalism Club in the Greek Film Archive

On Wednesday 5 April, the students of the Club of Cinematic Education and of the Journalism Club visited the Greek Film Archive and had the chance to watch the first saved Greek film, the ?Adventures of Villar?. The film, lasting 26 minutes, was shot in 1927 and depicts in an expressive and humorous way the adventures of a Athenian of those times, presenting at the same time with exceptional liveliness the image of the Greek capital 100 years ago. After watching the film, students were guided in the museum of the Greek Film Archive, where they saw among others an impressive collection of the first projection devices and many other interesting exhibits related to the history of the cinema in Greece. The students were also guided in the Greek Film Archive library and saw Greek and foreign books and magazines about cinema. Overall, that was a very interesting experience and the students were exposed to important information they will make use of in a creative way during their educational work on the cinematic art.
