The award-winning student of our school (C? award in the 39th National Mathematics Olympiad 2022 organised by the Hellenic Mathematics Society) Dimitrios Kassimatis from C? Class worked with the younger students of the Mathematics Club of Evangeliki Model High School of Smyrna, on the solving of competition problems, on Friday 01/04/2022. He had an excellent interaction with the students of the Club ? most of whom (19 students) participated in the same competition, competing with older students of the high school on the same test, after a panhellenic selection among more than 18,000 students.
More precisely, they discussed their ideas about the solution of selected problems and Dimitrios highlighted the value of persistence and patience so that a basic idea of them can be transformed into the solution of such a problem. Moreover, starting from their own ideas, he guided students into the finding of their solutions. The most important thing of all, though, is that our students learn in every moment of their life ? through their classmates and people familiar to them, like Dimitrios ? that ethos and hard work make you able to find satisfaction into learning and creating, which can also lead to success.
Dimitrios, we thank you and wish you good luck in the upcoming preliminary competition for the selection of the National Teams of Mathematics 2022. We hope you enjoy solving the problems you will be faced with on 16/17-04-2022.
